God's Bible Verses

The start of it all...

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth.

Genesis 1:1

God then creates a man and a perfect place for him to live.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.  And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there He put the man whom he had formed.  And out of the ground the LORD God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, along with the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Genesis 2:7-9

God then sets down a rule for the man.
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but

of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it, you

shall surely die".
Genesis 2:16-17

He then creates a woman from the man's rib.
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD  God  had taken from man, He made into a woman and He brought her to the man.
Genesis 2:21-22

Then the woman and the man decide to listen to Satan, disobey God and break God's rule.
Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. "So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her and he ate.
Genesis 3:4-6

God answers this situation with a promise of a redeemer along with victory over evil.

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will crush your head and you will strike His heel.

Genesis 3:15

Adam and Eve leave the garden and humanity now needs to be reconciled to God.

Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever, the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.

Genesis 3:22b-23

The human race begins to multiply
And Adam knew Eve, his wife; and she conceived, and Cain was born, and she said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And soon thereafter Abel was born.

Genesis 4:1-2a

And the sin nature of humanity quickly shows itself
Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against his brother and killed him.
Genesis 4:8

And the human race continues to grow

When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his own image, and named him Seth.  The days of Adam after he fathered Seth were 800 years; and he had other sons and daughters.

Genesis 5:3-4

But the sin continues and the Lord God will only take so much
The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  And the LORD regretted that He had made man on the earth and it grieved Him to His heart. So the LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Genesis 6:5-8

God saves righteous Noah, his family and a male and female creature of every kind.

Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came upon the Earth.  And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons wives went with him into the Ark to escape the waters of the flood.

Genesis 7:6-7

The rain stops and the earth repopulates.

And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

Genesis 8:13

And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

Genesis 9:18-19

God makes a pact with Abraham that has far reaching implications

Now the LORD said to Abram (renamed Abraham by God), "Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; And in you all peoples on earth will be blessed." So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

Genesis 12:1-5

God's presents the Ten Commandments which spell out part of God's rules to live by
And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God…
ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'
TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image-any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'
THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'
FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'
FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'
SIX: 'You shall not murder.'
SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'
EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'
NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'
TEN: 'You shall not covet."

Exodus 20:1-17

God and true wisdom

My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God. For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.

Proverbs 2:1-8

As time goes on, humanity continues to chose their will over God's will
They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.
Psalms 14:3

But...

I know that my redeemer lives.  In the end, He will stand upon the earth.

Job 19:25

and God's salvation plan from the Bible unfolds...

But the Lord shall endure forever; He has prepared His throne for judgement. He shall judge the world in righteousness and he shall administer judgement for the peoples in uprightness. The Lord will also be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know your name will put their trust in you; For you, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Psalms 9:7-10

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good, acceptable and perfect.
